What is a cookie?
A cookie is a piece of information that links the web browser (user) to a web server (website).
Cookies store information in a small text file that allows a web site to recognize a browser. The first time you access a site, the browser stores information about the user’s preferences (eg language, currency, etc.). Upon a subsequent return to the website, the information in the cookie regarding the user’s preferences will be read and set accordingly.
Why are cookies important for the Internet?
Cookies represent the central point of the efficient functioning of the internet, helping to generate a friendly browsing experience and adapted to the preferences and interests of each user. Refusing or deactivating cookies does not mean that you will no longer receive online advertising but only that your preferences and interests will not be taken into account, highlighted by browsing behavior: news categories, weather, sports, public services, services travel or the language displayed.
